A little wave? That sounds promising to me, although my comment of yesterday still stands - it sounds like he likes you, either as a friend or as something more. Be careful not to push it for now - let's see what his next move is.

Thanks. I get the impression he does like me, just the little things. And he's not gone and told everyone and I've not been beaten up, so my worst case scenario hasn't happened.
How long should I wait? It's so hard (so to speak)

You need to give it a week or so at least, I think. And even then you need to address the issue calmly, in a "have you had more thoughts about going out sometime?" kind of way.
I know it's hard.
